Set in 1968 apartheid South Africa, Laundry follows Khuthala, a young man torn between his dream of becoming a musician and protecting his family’s laundry business as the government cracks down on Black entrepreneurship. The film world premiered in the Discovery section at the Toronto International Film Festival in September 2025, and went on to compete at the Marrakech International Film Festival and screen at the Santa Barbara International Film Festival, where it closed the festival in February 2026.
